UPG 87530 Ecotricity Portable Emergency Backup Power Solar Generator Review

UPG 87530 Ecotricity Portable Emergency Backup Power Solar Generator Review

Portable Solar Power Generator - I like the fact that this has 5 separate outlets for fans , lamps, microwave, etc and an outlet for charger adapters. It takes 5 full days to fully charge from an AC outlet. Have not tried solar charger yet. Be sure and turn off when storing. I did not do this the first time and it actually ran down about halfway while just sitting in the closet. It has all kinds of little indicator lights that drain the charge. Had to re charge fully then turn off unit to store. The generator box while small (about the size of three shoe boxes) is heavy but seems very substantial and heavy duty. Solar panel is too heavy to do by yourself if a women so get help to set up. Also have a large beach towel to cover unit with when taking out of sun to keep it from continuing the charge.

Ecotricity Eco1800S Solar Power Generators are designed to simply plug and play right out of the box, offering reliable off-the-grid and self-sufficient portable power. Power Bright PW1100-12 Power Inverter 1100 Watt 12 Volt DC To 110 Volt AC

Power Bright PW1100-12 Power Inverter 1100 Watt

Portable Solar Powered Generator - I installed this in my travel trailer to run a tv/dvd, small microwave and computers. Tests of the system have been perfect. The inverter has good connections for plugging it in and for clamping it to the battery. It also has very low standby power draw on the batteries when the unit is on with no 110vac loads running. Power Bright PW1100-12 Power Inverter 1100 Watt is great for when the electricity goes off or you need to create your own!! a nicely built product with digital displays, low power consumption and very quiet. Very happy with it.

Power Bright PW1100-12 Power Inverter 1100 Watt 12 Volt DC To 110 Volt plugs directly to a 12 Volt DC battery to power laptops, televisions, gaming consoles and other electronics and small appliances in your vehicle.

Power Bright PW1100-12 Power Inverter 1100 Watt Pros and Cons

PROS:
- durable construction
- quiet = fan only comes on when unit gets warm after initial power up

CONS:
- power cables from battery clamps to unit are stiff and brittle. You can buy upgraded "ultra flexible" ones but IMHO they should ship with that.

Portable Solar Powered Generator

Portable Solar Powered Generator
PortableSolar Powered Generator - Humans have always worked at developing methods for harnessing the available renewable energy including the sun's energy. Solar energy is the use of solar radiation, making electricity from the sun. It is done either by photovoltaics (PV), solar thermal or concentrating solar power. The photovoltaic cell or solar cell uses the photoelectric field. Concentrating power is a larger scale for central power plants.

Medium to small portable generators can handle the electrical needs of your home and car. A great idea is the SOL8 Solar Generator Briefcase with the stamina for laptops, GPS systems or any hand tool. There are many style and price ranges for these portable generators today. The portable solar generator is attractive since it is maintenance free clean, safe, and pollution free.

The Usefulness of Portable Solar Powered Generator

Whenever a natural disaster hits, it's important to have a backup power plan. While many people will turn to highly portable generators that utilize different types of fossil fuels to create electricity, a solar powered generator can be the perfect solution for providing the power that you need during this difficult time. In response to these issues, a solar power generator generates electricity by converting sunlight into usable energy. In addition to its ability to work at any time that the sun is visible, a solar generator results in little to no fumes and loud noises associated with fossil fueled alternatives.

How Do Portable Solar Powered Generator Work?

Most solar powered generators are designed for either home power generation or specific generation purposes, such as roadside signs and other isolated areas. Each solar panel array is connected to an array of either deep cycle or continuous batteries that can store the energy as it is generated.

Why Portable Solar Powered Generator are Necessary in Emergency Situations ?

Your Portable Solar Powered Generator can help keep your food safe, your lights on and your climate controlled while you wait for the power to return. As long as the weather is cooperative, having a high quality solar power generation system can make bridging the gap between no power and restored power much easier and more comfortable.

What you should know Before Buying a Portable Solar Powered Generator ?

Portable Solar Powered Generators
The perfect solution is to choose a quiet portable generator. The quietest generators are known as inverters. Inverter generators have the lowest decibel output, are compact in size, and very powerful.

Some portable generators have electrical switches that are convenient and easy to turn on. Others have a pull cord that has to be started like a lawn more. If a power overload might be an issue for you then you should make sure that your portable generator has automatic shut off capabilities. Most generators on the market today have built in circuit breakers to prevent overloading.

Your Next Step

Before purchasing a portable generator, asses your power needs and decide on how much money you want to spend. Remember, the general rule is that you get what you pay for. The cheaper generators tend to be louder and usually require more maintenance while the more expensive generators such as the inverters are typically quieter and easier to maintain. Once you know your needs, you can move on to the next step which is to narrow down your top choices.
